Richard L. Galin is Chairman of Gordon Silver’s Corporate and Real Estate Department. Since joining the firm in 1995, he has become one of the top attorneys in the area on issues pertaining to corporate mergers and acquisitions, securities, financial institutions, and complex commercial transactions. Mr. Galin works closely with clients and deals frequently with regulatory authorities on a wide range of matters involving: corporate takeovers, corporate governance, securities law registration, disclosure and compliance, Sarbanes-Oxley Act compliance, regulatory issues affecting banks and other financial institutions, new bank formations, executive compensation, business expansion, and complex commercial contracts and transactional documents.
Mr. Galin began his distinguished legal career as an attorney with the Office of the Comptroller of Currency in Washington, D.C., in the Securities & Corporate Practices Division, before moving to private practice in Los Angeles where he was a partner in a prominent California law firm.
Mr. Galin's legal experience spans the globe. He practiced law for six years in Japan as a gaikokuho-jimu-bengoshi (licensed foreign lawyer) with a large, international business law firm in Tokyo, and was a member of the Daini Tokyo Bar Association. Throughout his career, Mr. Galin has been involved with many organizations. He is a former chairman of the Business Law Section of the Beverly Hills Bar Association and is a current member of the State Bar of Nevada, State Bar of California, District of Columbia Bar and Clark County Bar Association.
Admitted to practice in Nevada, California and the District of Columbia, Mr. Galin holds a Juris Doctor degree from Georgetown University Law Center, graduating cum laude, and a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Long Island University, graduating magna cum laude.
