Joseph Kistler has more than 30 years of experience as a litigation attorney. Joining Gordon & Silver, Ltd. in 1988, following his service in the United States Air Force as a judge advocate, Mr. Kistler’s practice is primarily concentrated in the areas of civil litigation, catastrophic tort litigation and construction law. He is admitted to Nevada and North Carolina and admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, the United States Court of Military Appeals, and the courts of the State of Nevada.

For more than five years, Mr. Kistler has acted as a Special Assistant Attorney General for Nevada for civil actions on behalf of the state of Nevada. He attributes his ongoing success to the notion that he is both a good listener and a skilled orator. His belief is that good law should be based on good common sense.

Mr. Kistler’s United States Air Force work included overseas duties with the American Embassy in the Republic of the Philippines. He is currently a member of the Nevada Trial Lawyers Association, Clark County Bar Association, American Bar Association and the State Bar of Nevada. Heavily involved in the community, Mr. Kistler is an active member of the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) where he volunteers to champion the best interests of abused and neglected children in court.

A Tarheel native, Mr. Kistler received both his Juris Doctorate and Bachelor of Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
